row that The Haven will play host.”
The Haven
Lakeside Residences, developer of Perak’s premier condominium and resort, will
once again be the venue for two events organized by Perak’s premier running and
cycling club, Kelab Roadrunners Ipoh
(KRI). These events will be held in
August and October.
The first of
these, Duathlon at The Haven, take place on 24th August, while The Brooks-KRI Annual Run will
be held there on 14th September 2014.
The duathlon
event will consist of a 2km run, a 21km bike ride, and end with a 7km run.
“This year’s
event will be especially exciting as the route will take runners and cyclists
through unspoilt natural territory and some of Perak’s lesser known yet
exceptionally beautiful landscape,” says Mr Chong Him Shoong, President of KRI
who has been organizing sporting events for the past 27 years.
“It will be
an off road event hence cyclists will use mountain bikes instead of the usual
road bikes. Participants can expect to
pass through an orang asli settlement, quaint kampongs and a waterfall,” he explains.
The event is divided
into individual and mixed relay categories. There will be 35 trophies up for
grabs in six categories, individual (men and women) and mixed relay. There will be prize money for the top three
finishers in all categories, totaling nearly RM8,000. All finishers can also expect to receive
finishing medals.

The Brooks-KRI Annual
Run, which has
been held for the last 26 consecutive years, will be a 14km road running event
on 14 September 2014.
“This very popular event is held in
conjunction with the completion-cum-official opening of The Haven, a five-star
condominium development ideally located in the resort suburb of Tambun in Ipoh. The venue will enable participants to enjoy
the enchanting natural beauty that Perak has to offer, thus promoting sports
and tourism.

been planned - to marvel at centuries old limestone karsts,
a freshwater lake, and natural rainforest while breathing in the crisp air at
